about

Can I know you even more? Can I trust you even more?

We often sing this song when leading others in singing. It's a prayer, a request of God that we might somehow become more his. To know and trust and love him even more than we do now.

The words come from a few places in scripture, but the bridge is directly from one of my most favorite sections, Ephesians chapter three. Paul prays that we would know the depths of God's love, even though it's unknowable. He reminds us that God is capable of more than we could ever ask, or even imagine!

And we sing to him because we know that before the foundation of the world, God chose us to be adopted as his sons and daughters through what he would do through Jesus. "And this gave him great pleasure." (Ephesians 1:5)

This song is BIG. Sing it loud!

lyrics

Even More (2002)

Can I know You even more
Can I know You even more
I just want to know you
my heart is longing deeply to
Know You even more

Can I know You even more
Can I know You even more
I just want to know you
my heart is longing deeply to
Know You even more

Can it be that I could know
The One who made reality
Oh, can it be that I could know
The One who crafted me

Can I trust You even more
Can I trust You even more
I just want to trust you
my heart is longing deeply to
Trust You even more

Can it be that I could know
The One who made reality
Oh, can it be that I could know
The One who crafted me
What could ever hold Your deepness
Yet you run
To meet me

And I pray that we would all together know His power
So that we might grasp how wide and long,
how high and deep is His love
This love that’s greater than anything that we could ever know
And I pray we would be filled with all the fullness of God

Can it be that I could know
The One who made reality
Oh, can it be that I could know
The One who crafted me
What could ever hold Your deepness
Yet you run
To meet me
Can it be that I could know
The One who made reality
Oh, can it be that I could know
The One who crafted me
What could ever hold Your deepness
Yet you run
To meet me
Can it be that I could know
The One who made reality
